We offer technical assistance in the areas: Comprehensive Sexual Health Education Coordinated School Health Programs Nutrition Education Physical Activity Promotion Physical Education including Adapted Physical Education School Wellness Policies Tobacco Use Prevention (TUPE) The unit supports districts and schools in Los Angeles County as they address the issues of nutrition, substance use, sexual health, and HIV/AIDS prevention. Our goals are to support students in developing appropriate attitudes and behaviors that will promote life-long health, and to help close the achievement gap by reducing personal, social, and physiological barriers to student success.
